This model is an innovative drive position tire developed especially to provide traction, uniform tread wear for extra mileage, safety, and road grip. It is designed especially for regional hauling and on/off-road applications.
The HDR+ comes with an improved cap/base tread compound molded into an aggressive tread pattern that presents open shoulders to deliver superb lateral stability, thus improving handling performance. With a large footprint for better pressure distribution, it offers more adherence, increased mileage, and more stability at the same time. Multi-rib design is to reduce the road noise for a comfortable and quiet ride experience. It uses the 18/32 tread that presents a durable tread compound to provide casing durability, reducing the impacts from road shocks and other hazards. Continental engineers use the latest innovation in the tire industry to provide longer wear and lower rolling resistance by predicting rubber characteristics at the molecular level. Compared with the original HDR model, this model delivers up to 13% improvement in removal miles.
For safety reasons, this model uses an important innovation named scuff rib designed to protect against curbing, cuts, and abrasions for maximum casing durability, and retreadability. Two wide, deep circumferential grooves combined with lateral grooves provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the footprint, improving wet traction and braking performance.
