This model is an ultra-premium drive-position tire developed to show excellent performance when it comes to tread wear, traction, fuel usage, grip, and road stability. It is designed to be used in line-haul and regional applications. It is recommended to be used in tandem axle.
The FD405 comes with EPA SmartWay- verified tread compound molded into an aggressive tread design that presents closed shoulders developed to promote even wear while maintaining excellent traction in mud. Advanced tread blocks deliver extra road adherence and stability on any road surface. Chinese engineers use a wide footprint for better pressure distribution promoting uniform wear and more road stability as well. To reduce CO2 emissions, the Double Coin uses a specialized tread compound developed to promote low rolling resistance along with improved fuel efficiency on highways. This model shows the same performance as Bridgestone M710, Goodyear G505 and Continental HDL EcoPlus.
For safety reasons, this model has an advanced grooves geometry that guarantees high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush evacuation from under the tire contact patch, providing the best performance in wet weather conditions. This model stands out with its special groove bottom protectors added to boost casing durability and longevity. Double Coin FD405 is available in 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes, with 26/32nds tread depth, being one of the best drive position tire options for a wide range of commercial vehicles used in goods/people transportation, but also in construction applications. This tire comes in two variants, a 14 and 16-ply rating developed to protect tire structure for safe and controlled driving experience.
