This model is an ultra-premium fuel-efficient steer position tire from Double Coin’s OptiGreen Series developed especially for commercial use providing handling responsiveness, powerful grip, load safety, uniform tread wear for extra mileage, and more road stability. It is designed to be used on long and regional-haul services, but also in multiple applications.
The FR605 comes with a SmartWay verified tread compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents a five-rib design with a large footprint for better pressure distribution providing increased mileage, adherence, and more lateral stability at the same time. It has a 17/32” tread depth designed to improve fuel efficiency, offering more mileage, and additional casing durability. Double Coin engineers use the SmartWay verified technologies in the tire industry to guarantee longer wear and lower rolling resistance by predicting rubber characteristics at the molecular level. It shows approximately the same performance as Bridgestone R283A Ecopia, Goodyear Fuel Max, and Michelin XDA Energy.
For safety reasons, this model has special stress relief sipes designed to combat the irregular wear along all ribs by absorbing rib edges stresses in the contact patch. Special stone rejector platforms increase the stone drilling/retention resistance for more casing durability and overall performance. Due to the four wide circumferential tread grooves, the tire provides high hydroplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the footprint, improving wet grip, braking, and traction performance. It stands out with its extensive siping and defense grooves in the tread improving even wear while maintaining excellent traction characteristics and powerful road grip. Durable sidewalls and internal construction offer more casing durability and strength for high people/load safety.
Double Coin FR605 is available from 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes with 14 and 16 ply ratings, being one of the best steer position tire options for a wide range of vehicles used in goods/people transportation and construction applications.
