In the design of ElectricDrive 2, Goodyear uses a least 50% sustainable materials including the use of soybean oil, rice husk ash silica, and natural rubber. Shaped into an asymmetric tread pattern with wide shoulders and continuous center ribs, this tire provides great grip and responsiveness on wet and dry roads, even on snowy roads. Besides great all-season capability, the ElectricDrive 2 provides high fuel economy. Its aerodynamic sidewall lowers aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance for an increased EV's range. Moreover, to improve the ride comfort and overall driving experience, this model uses the latest SoundComfort technology. This means special foam inserts that help reduce the level of interior vehicle sound for smooth and quiet journeys.
In addition, the strong sidewall compound and new casing design provide ride safety and handling confidence. Its special rim guard offers extra protection to sidewalls and wheels. Best of all, the Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 is anticipated to be available beginning May 2024 in 17 sizes optimized to fit today’s leading and emerging consumer EV sedans and CUVs. It will be the best fitment for the Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model S, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Chevrolet Bolt EV, Audi Q4 e-tron, and many others.
