Federal History

Federal Corporation is a tire manufacturer founded in 1954 by Ma Chi San with headquarter in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City Taiwan. Federal has two tire manufacturing plants: in Zhongli, Taiwan, and a plant in China, Jiangxi, Nanchang. The company sells products under two brands: Federal Tires and Hero Tires. The Federal products are designed for on the global market, while Hero products are mostly targeted to the internal market of China. Federal produces its first tire in 1958.

From 1981 to 2000, the Federal was in technical cooperation with Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (Dunlop Tire Japan). Due to this cooperation, the Taiwanese brand received the necessary technical capabilities and know-how to produce one of the most trustworthy and affordable tires on the market.

One of the most important events in Federal history:

  • In 1986- it received the Quality A Supplier Award.

  • In 1990 - FORD Q1 Award from Ford Motor Company.

  • In 1993- Honda also issued a Quality award.

The Company is a sponsor to different racing teams, drivers, and events. Over time, the Federal built a strong network of distributors throughout 70+ countries and is still expanding.

Taiwanese brand is known worldwide, especially in the US, Japan, and Australia for its ultra-high-performance products. Federal tires are appreciated for its reasonable price, comfort, and performance at the same time.

The Federal product includes winter series, light truck, commercial truck tires. The main product is UHP tires for passenger cars and supercars.

The most highlighted model from the Federal range is EVOLUZION ST-1. This is an ultra-high-performance summer tire designed to deliver the best performance in both wet and dry handling. This model has three wide and one thin groove reduces hydroplaning. To enhance cornering stability the Federal engineers use high-rigidity carcass structure.
