The Hankook Tire & Technology Group simply known as Hankook is a South Korean tire company. The Korean brand was established by Jae Hun Chung. The word "Hankook" literally means Korea. According to annual sales, the Hankook Tire & Technology Group is the 7th largest tire manufacturer in the world. The Korean brand has its headquarters in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, South Korea. Hankook has manufacturing facilities in South Korea, China, Hungary, Indonesia, but also in the United States. 

Some notable facts about Hankook are: 

  • Korean company signed with Farnbarcher Racing to race a Ferrari F430 GT in the 2009 Le Mans Series season.   

  • Hankook supplied UHP tires from 2007 until 2009 for IMSA Prototype Lites, a support series for the American Le Mans Series.   

  • Nowadays, Hankook is the official tire partner for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.  

  • Hankook sponsored Formula Drift driver Chris Forsberg.
