Trailer tires are usually built with stiffer sidewalls than other types of tires, which helps to prevent trailer sway and maintain stability on the road. With this in mind, Leao offers us their new LLA18, which is a wide base trailer position tire for long haul applications.
Looking at the tread pattern, we see a wide six rib design that ensures excellent contact with the road for maximum security. The load pressure is evenly distributed along the whole footprint surface, supporting up to 9,920 lbs per single tire. To further improve this, a strong internal structure is present that also promotes numerous retread cycles for fewer company costs. Wide grooves with a wavy pattern throw away water from the patch area, boosting stability and grip with the road.
In addition, the Leao LLA18 features a closed shoulder design to enhance the steering response and allow for easy maneuvering of the whole vehicle. Moreover, it minimizes irregular wear to increase the lifespan of the tire. Very durable sidewalls combat lateral forces for better performance in sharp curves, offering a safe work environment for drivers. Also, the advanced rubber compound helps to lower the rolling resistance and keep the tire from overheating. This results in less fuel usage, therefore less time spent at the pumps. Furthermore, the Leao LLA18 is available in one common size - 385/65R22.5. This wide base model comes with more ply rating options and a speed index of K and J to fit a wider range of trailer applications.
