Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R
This model is a Streetable Track & Competition tire built especially for supercars and sports cars. It can maximize the vehicle's performance, improving cornering grip, steering control, and handling response. The Cup 2 R comes with an innovative tread compound used in Michelin's motorsport tires designed to boost grip during acceleration, braking, and cornering.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R comes with a high-traction tread compound molded into an updated, asymmetric pattern designed to reduce void area thus improving grip in dry conditions. Due to the massive, outboard shoulder, fewer lateral notches, and narrower circumferential tread grooves the tire presents wider tread ribs for more rubber in the contact patch.
For safety reasons this model has the inner shoulder focused on wet traction, with deep, lateral notches to evacuate water from the tire. Even though this model meets DOT requirements, they don't feel very well in wet conditions and there is a high risk of hydroplaning.
According to Michelin's recommendation, these tires should be stored at temperatures above 32°F (0°C). Below 14°F (-10°C).
