This model is an all-position tire developed to show high performance in terms of uniform tread wear, fuel usage, and mileage on all types of roads. It is designed especially to be used in regional and line haul applications offering passenger safety, high traction, more mileage without compromising fuel efficiency.
The X COACH Z comes with an advanced rubber compound molded into a directional tread pattern that presents a unique five-rib design to improve rolling resistance, uniform wear in highway service. Due to special zigzag grooves, the tire shows increased traction performance in new and worn tire conditions. Compared with the Michelin XZA 2 Energy 315/80 R22.5, this model has a 7% reduction in rolling resistance and up to 3% of an increased new contact footprint. One of the most innovative features used by Michelin engineers is special groove wall-miniature sipes developed to manage the irregular wear for long tread life.
For safety reasons this model has four wide circumferential grooves combined with advanced hydro sipes designed to provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint, delivering excellent handling performance. It has special groove elements that increase resistance to stone retention for more casing durability. This model stands out with its full-width elastic protector ply added to protect against penetration and impact shocks.
