Michelin XDS 2 Standard Sizes
This model is the second generation of Michelin’s drive tires developed to provide high performance in terms of deep snow and mud traction. It is designed especially for regional and line haul applications offering increased year-round traction, load safety, more mileage without compromising fuel efficiency.
The XDS 2 Standard Sizes comes with an advanced tread compound molded into a rugged four-lug directional tread design that presents numerous open shoulders developed to provide exceptional traction in adverse weather and snow conditions. To maximize mud and snow evacuation in both dry and slippery conditions for better year-round traction the Michelin engineers use Durable Technology's Matrix 3-Dimensional siping. This model delivers exceptional casing life offered by an extra-robust four-belt crown package with extra-wide plies.
One of the innovations used by Michelin to increase the tire durability and strength is the SipeSaver teardrop at the base of the sipes that relieves stresses and helps prevent tearing. Michelin XDS 2 Standard Sizes has a unique tread design to provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint, delivering exceptional all-season traction combined with excellent grip performance at the same time. Due to the full-width protector ply, the tire presents extra internal protection from bruising penetrations and other road hazards.
This model is available in 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes, being one of the best drive tire options for a wide range of commercial vehicles used in freight transportation.
