This model is an exceptional all-position commercial tire developed to show performance when it comes to the demands of high scrub and spread axle service offering uniform tread wear, more steering responsiveness, and mileage. It is designed especially for regional transport, off-road applications, and line haul routes providing safety, extra mileage, and increased traction characteristics without compromising fuel efficiency.
The XZA 17.5 model comes with an advanced rubber compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents four-rib with an optimized contact patch for better pressure distribution, good traction, and more stability on the road. It presents massive shoulders and a special compound designed to resist scrub and abrasion, extending tread life. The Michelin engineers zig-zag groove walls to provide outstanding traction by enhanced biting edges.
This model gained extra protection from impacts and curbing offered by special full-width elastic protector ply and curb guard features. Due to the Rectangular Bead Bundle used by Michelin engineers, the tire stabilized the entire bead region and minimized fatigue in order to extend casing life.
For safety reasons, this model has three circumferential grooves designed to provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water, snow, and slush dispersion from under the tire contact patch, improving excellent handling and traction performance at the same time.
