The Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240) has an advanced Bi-Compound tread compound molded into an asymmetric pattern with different rubber compounds on the tread's outboard and inboard regions. It presents an expansive outboard shoulder featuring a High Molecular Chain tread rubber designed to provide exceptional grip when it comes to corners. This tire meets Track Longevity Technology 2.0 designed to reinforce the outboard shoulder with a unique, abrasion-resistant rubber designed to increase longevity and driving performance as well.
For safety reasons, it has notched center ribs and an inboard shoulder that uses a high-silica compound designed to provide exceptional wet traction and the best braking performance. To reduce the risk of hydroplaning the Michelin engineers use three wide, circumferential grooves that work with deep, lateral notches enhancing water evacuation from under the tire footprint. Moreover, inside the tire, we can find twin steel belts with a spirally-wound, hybrid aramid, and nylon reinforcement. The belt package utilizes Michelin's Wavy Summit Architecture designed to boost stiffness-enhancing handling responsiveness and road stability under aggressive inputs.
