This model is a fuel-efficient wide base trailer position tire engineered especially for commercial use to provide improved fuel usage, long life, improved traction, load safety, and outstanding retreadability. It is designed to be used in long-haul service.
The Greatec R197 Ecopia comes with a SmartWay Verified tread compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents a six-rib design with a wide footprint for better pressure distribution. Thanks to 11/32” tread depth and continuous shoulder design this tire guarantees improved road stability, uniform wear performance, excellent all-weather grip along superb wet braking. Durable internal structure promotes high carrying capacity without sacrificing vehicle height. Bridgestone uses the latest innovations in the tire industry to provide longer wear and lower rolling resistance by predicting rubber characteristics at the molecular level. Compared with the previous generation, Greatec R135, the new one delivers 6% better rolling resistance, and up to 20% longer removal miles, thanks to NanoPro-Tech compound.
For safety reasons this model has a defense groove along with stone rejector platforms designed to minimize stone retention, thus extending casing lifespan. Five circumferential tread grooves provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under contact patch, improving overall performance. Bridgestone engineers use patented turn-in ply design with the purpose to increase casing durability and flexibility, by wrapping the body ply around the bead bundle. Another innovation used by Bridgestone is patented waved belt design developed to minimize stress at the belt edges. Due to equalizer rib the tire shows uniform tread wear by absorbing excess energy.
