This model is a premium summer tire developed for vehicles in the compact, mid-size, and full-size category designed to provide extremely short braking distances on both dry and wet pavement, reduced rolling resistance, and more stability on the road.
The ContiPremiumContact 5 comes with an advanced summer tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread pattern combined with optimized 3D edges designed to reduce the braking distances for a safe and controllable driving experience.
One of the most notable elements of this model is the computer-optimized macro blocks that enhance the contact area of the tire when strong lateral forces guarantee responsive handling and better transmission of cornering forces. Another role of the 3-D edges is to prevent the tread blocks from curling and deforming while braking, providing even pressure distribution.
Continental engineers use the latest technologies in the tire industry to offer premium tires with perfect grip, optimal handling, and short braking distances. For safety reasons, this model has four circumferential grooves and lateral notches designed to better water evacuation from the under the tire footprint thus increasing the risk of hydroplaning.
