Continental ExtremeContact DW
This model is a Max Performance Summer tire developed to meet the needs of sports cars, sports coupes, and performance sedans owners who are looking for good ride quality and serious performance on both dry and wet roads.
The ExtremeContact DW comes with an advanced summer tread compound molded into an asymmetric pattern combined with chamfered tread blocks and a continuous, outboard notched intermediate rib designed to improve handling responsiveness and cornering stability. The Continental uses special continuous center ribs to reduce noise providing constant rubber-to-road contact for more control of the longitudinal forces when it comes to braking power.
For safety reasons, this tire presents a high void-to-tread ratio with open outboard lateral grooves, wide circumferential tread grooves, and notched shoulder blocks on the inboard intermediate rib and shoulder developed to evacuate water from under the tire footprint thus increasing the hydroplaning resistance and wet weather traction.
Inside the tread, we can find special construction that consists of a polyester or rayon cord body casing and two-ply sidewall construction to add sidewall stiffness without compromising ride comfort.
The ExtremeContact DW is available from 17 to 20-inch sizes, backed by a limited tread warranty.
