This model is a fuel-efficient, all-position tire developed for commercial use to show performance in terms of fuel usage, grip, tread wear, handling responsiveness, traction, and load safety. It is recommended for steer application in long and regional haul applications.
The FS591 model comes with a SmartWay verified tread compound molded into a five-rib tread design to deliver excellent handling characteristics and improved adherence in wet and dry conditions. It uses an optimized footprint for better pressure distribution providing increased mileage, grip, superb traction, and overall safety. Compared with Yokohama 101ZL, this tire shows up to 20% better removal mileage.
For safety reasons, this model has sidewall protector ribs to combat the initiation and spread of irregular wear-reducing casing damage from cuts, snags, and other road hazards. Firestone engineers use innovative sidewall design to reduce tire weight for more fuel efficiency reducing annual costs. Four circumferential grooves guarantee increased hydroplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire contact patch, providing the best braking and grip performance. Thirsty cross-rib sipes improve traction by slicing through water for a solid adherence. To prevent stone drilling and retention, this tire presents stone rejectors in the center groove maintaining casing integrity.
Firestone FS591 is available in 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes, with 18/32” tread depth being one of the best fuel-efficient all-position tire options for a wide range of commercial vehicles used in goods transportation and construction applications.
