Michelin X MULTI ENERGY D
This model is an all-position/steer tire developed especially for commercial use to provide high performance in terms of uniform tread wear, steering, fuel usage, and mileage. It is designed especially for line haul routes, national and regional operations providing optimized traction, extra mileage without compromising fuel efficiency.
The X MULTI ENERGY D comes with an all-new SmartWay verified tread compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents full depth, interlocking sipes with zig-zag walls to offer extra biting edges for high traction, and lug-like performance for even wear. It comes with a dual tread compound: a top layer is added for long mileage and a bottom is designed to provide fuel efficiency and casing durability. It presents a five-rib with a large contact patch for better weight distribution combined with shoulder siping designed to improve mileage, grip, stability on the highway but also additional traction in all weather conditions.
For safety reasons this model has four circumferential grooves designed to provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the footprint, improving the year-round performance. Due to the Sipe Saver Technology used by Michelin engineers, the tire presents high tearing resistance due to a special teardrop at the base of the shoulder sipe designed to relieve stress.
