Michelin XDN2
This model is a premium Michelin’s drive tire engineered to provide superior traction, uniform tread wear, fuel usage, and more mileage at the same time. It is designed especially for line haul, regional applications providing load safety, road stability, handling responsiveness, and mileage without compromising fuel efficiency.
The XDN2 comes with the next-generation application specific compound molded into an optimized tread design that presents a five-rib model for high traction in adverse weather and snow conditions. Due to wide open shoulder grooves, the tire provides confident traction in all-weather conditions. One of the most highlighted technologies used by Michelin engineers is the Matrix Siping Technology designed to provide thousands of biting edges for high traction and lug-like performance. This technology means the three center ribs, sipes with zigzag walls interlock to provide a stable tread block for squirm resistance.
Michelin XDN2 has four zigzag circumferential grooves combined with deep lateral grooves that provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint, improving traction and grip at the same time. Due to the full-width protector ply, the tire presents extra internal protection from nail penetrations and other road hazards. To extend casing life the Michelin uses a Rectangular bead bundle- a Michelin exclusive innovation added to stabilize the entire bead region but also to reduce fatigue.
