This model is a fuel-efficient all-position tire developed for commercial use to show premium performance in terms of fuel usage, grip, tread wear, handling, and road safety. It is recommended for steering axles for the long haul and regional service.
The R284 Ecopia model comes with an innovative tread compound molded into a four-rib tread design to deliver enhanced tread stiffness for improved fuel usage, good handling characteristics, and improved grip on wet and dry conditions. It uses an optimized footprint for better pressure distribution providing increased mileage, grip, smooth ride, and load safety. Thanks to equalizer rib the tire offers uniform wear along with higher removal mileage as well. Compared to the R283A, this model promotes 5% improved rolling resistance and increased wear life, due to the latest technologies used by Bridgestone.
For safety reasons, this model has three extra-wide circumferential grooves designed to guarantee improved hydroplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire contact patch, providing the best braking and grip performance. Firestone engineers use IntelliShape sidewall design to reduce tire weight improving rolling resistance for less annual costs. To prevent stone drilling and retention, this tire has special narrow circumferential tread elements, protecting the internal structure from potential damages.
Bridgestone R284 Ecopia is available in 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes, with 18/32” tread depth being one of the best fuel-efficient all-position/steer tire options for a wide range of commercial vehicles used in the long haul and regional applications.
