The XZE 2 Standard Sizes comes with an innovative tread compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents a five-rib with an extra-wide contact patch and deep tread for better pressure distribution and more stability on the road. One of the most highlighted innovations used by Michelin engineers is special rib edge micro sipes added to protect against the early onset of irregular wear.
Four circumferential grooves guarantee high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint, improving handling features. The Michelin uses Matrix Siping technology that means the three center ribs, sipes with zigzag walls interlock to promote a stable tread block for squirm resistance. This model gained extra protection from impacts and curbing offered by special full-width elastic protector ply. Due to the Rectangular Bead Bundle used by Michelin engineers, the tire stabilized the entire bead region and minimized fatigue in order to extend casing life.
