Pirelli tires

Pirelli History

Pirelli & C. S.p.A. simply known as Pirelli is an Italian multinational company founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli. The Italian brand is the 6th-largest tire manufacturer behind Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, and Sumitomo. An interesting fact about the company is that besides rubber and derivative processes, the Italian company initially also made scuba diving rebreathers.

At the request of Lancia, the Italian brand Pirelli created in 1975 a pretty wide tire with a radial structure and reduced sidewall height thus increasing the speed and power to the Lancia Stratos. In 2005, they sold the cable telecommunications division to Goldman Sachs and focused only on tire production.

As of today, Pirelli is operating commercially in over 160 countries. It has 19 manufacturing sites in 13 countries and a network of around 15,000 distributors and retailers.

Most popular Pirelli tires

Over time Pirelli received a good reputation thanks to the latest technologies used and amazing quality.  Some of the top-notch technologies used are the following:

  • Noise Cancelling System (PNCS) means comfort. This technology can reduce the noise inside the vehicle by half.

  • RUN-FLAT TECHNOLOGY means safety. RUN-FLAT tires come with a stronger structure designed to provide safety in case of air pressure loss or a blowout.

  • SEAL INSIDE TECHNOLOGY means control. Due to SEAL INSIDE you can keep control of your car in the event of a punctured tire.

When it comes to Pirelli’s range of products, they are divided into the following categories:

1) Car products
