Kumho Tire Co. Inc. is a South Korean tire manufacturer with headquarters in Gwangju, South Korea. The Kumho was founded by Park In-chon in 1960 as Samyang Tire. Besides three manufacturing facilities in South Korea: Gwangju Plant, Gokseong Plant, and the Pyeongtaek Plant the Kumho has also one in Macon, Georgia, United States. For the U.S. market, there is also a center for research and development in Akron, Ohio.
