Bridgestone R196A
This model is an all-position tire developed especially to provide enhanced lifespan, good scrub wear resistance, good handling capacities, and load safety. It is designed to be used in goods distribution and P&D services, but also in specialized transport.
The R196A comes with a tough tread compound molded into an optimized tread pattern that presents a five-rib with a large footprint for better pressure distribution providing increased mileage, grip, and more road stability. It uses a relatively deep tread pattern to promote more casing durability, managing road shocks, and other hazards. Due to wide continuous shoulders, this tire combats turning side forces, managing the risk of tearing.
For safety reasons, this model has an innovative belt package designed to add additional resistance to tearing on the spread and multi-axle trailers. Four wide, deep circumferential grooves provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the footprint, improving wet braking and traction performance. This tire stands out with its cross-rib sipes and stress relief sipes engineered to improve traction by slicing through water for solid grip on wet surfaces, respectively to reduce footprint stresses improving treadwear performance.
Bridgestone R196A is available with 22.5 and 24.5-inch sizes along with 16/32” tread depth, being one of the best trailer tire options for a wide range of commercial vehicles used in goods transportation, but also in construction applications.
