This model is a Streetable Track & Competition summer tire developed especially for sporty coupes, luxury sedans like Ferrari 458 Speciale, Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe, Porsche 918 Spyder, and many others. It was built to provide faster circuit times and consistent performance lap after lap.
The Pilot Sport Cup 2 comes with an advanced tread compound molded into an asymmetric design combined with Bi-Compound technology. It has different rubber compounds on the tread's outboard and inboard regions along with big outboard shoulders added to deliver maximum adherence in fast corners. Notched center ribs and an inboard shoulder use tread rubber featuring a more rigid elastomer to ensure precision steering.
This model is available with Variable Contact Patch 3.0 that maximizes the contact patch and optimizes its footprint pressure so that more rubber remains in contact with the track when cornering. These tires present a special internal structure that includes twin steel belts reinforced by Michelin's FAZ technology to ensure confident handling, steering control, and high-speed capability with ride comfort. For safety reasons, this tire has wide longitudinal grooves designed to efficiently and quickly water evacuation from under the tire footprint, increasing hydroplaning resistance.
The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is available from 17 to 21-inch sizes, backed by 6 years of standard limited warranty.
