This model is one of the most fuel-efficient Michelin’s drive tires engineered to provide high performance in terms of traction, uniform tread wear, fuel usage, and mileage. It is designed especially for regional and urban transport offering increased load safety, more mileage without compromising fuel efficiency.
The X MULTI D comes with an all-new tread compound molded into a unique design that has a five-lug design that presents numerous open shoulders for additional traction in adverse weather and snow conditions. It incorporates Matrix siping and a bridged open shoulder for long, even wear. Matrix Siping means the three center ribs, sipes with zigzag walls interlock to provide a stable tread block for squirm resistance. This model stands out with over 65% more mileage compared with the Michelin XDE M/S model. One of the most highlighted technologies is a TW6 OzoneShield that is a double treatment of the sidewall for improved casing protection.
Michelin X MULTI D has four deep circumferential grooves combined with advanced hydro sipes designed to provide high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint, delivering excellent grip performance at the same time. Due to the full-width protector ply, the tire presents extra internal protection from nail penetrations and other road hazards.
