The XFE Wide Base (Steer) comes with an innovative dual-compound tread rubber molded into an optimized tread design that has a five-rib design developed to promote additional traction in adverse weather conditions. It comes with a dual tread compound: a top layer is added for long mileage and a bottom is designed to provide fuel efficiency and casing durability. One of the most important innovations used in the production of this tire is Michelin’s rectangular bead bundle designed to minimize fatigue and extend casing life for a more stable bead area.
Michelin XFE Wide Base (Steer) has optimized zigzag groove design combined with lateral siping on groove edges engineered to deliver excellent traction and high aquaplaning resistance by better water and slush dispersion from under the tire footprint. Due to the tapered groove walls, the tire touches a high level of protection when it comes to stone drilling and road shocks.
