The ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus comes with an updated, performance-tuned all-season tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread pattern combined with SPORTPLUS+ Technology, to enhance handling and braking performance. The tread presents Macro-Blocks and Chamfered block edges designed to improve the best dry road traction and increase cornering performance. For safety reasons, this model has a high angle and circumferential grooves to evacuate water from under the tire footprint thus increasing hydroplaning resistance. To improve wet traction the Continental engineers use the 3D sipes while X-Sipes offer extra lateral and longitudinal grip along with handling precision.
One of the most notable innovations used in the production of DWS 06 Plus is the Alignment Verification System designed to help identify vehicle misalignment concerns early in the tire's life before wear patterns form. Inside the tread, we can find a high-strength, 2-ply sidewall construction combined with a Sport Sidewall Insert designed to manage the damages and increase handling responsiveness. The Continental uses a new high-strength, triple action, hybrid cap ply that helps combine the positive attributes of a stiffer cord material for improved handling characteristics, while simultaneously retaining the benefits of a more flexible cord.
